About Whitetail Deer Hunting

Everglades Adventures offers the Seminole Whitetail subspecies O.v. Seminolus. Our bucks weigh on average 125 lbs to 160 lbs and stand 36" at the shoulder with chocolate colored antlers and a unique hide color. Our rut occurs in July and August fawns are dropped in early March. This type of deer is very unique and would be a great addition to any whitetail collection.

SELECTION AND HARVEST

The PRIVATE ranch where our whitetail hunts are conducted has received VERY LIMITED past hunting pressure. This 9000 (nine-thousand) acre property is pristine and very special. We are only harvesting SELECTED animals on this property. This property has a LARGE population of whitetail deer.

ALL HUNTS are FULLY GUIDED (your party and a guide). You will not be permitted to shoot until you and your guide have discussed the animal and a decision has been made to harvest that particular animal and discussed the price prior to harvest. CLIENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO HUNT WITHOUT A GUIDE.

DECISION TO HARVEST is made by the GUIDE.

DEFINITION OF HARVEST is the attempt to harvest the animal. Once the decision is made to harvest the animal and a price is agreed upon it is then up to the CLIENT to make the harvest. Discharging any weapon at one of our whitetails is considered HARVESTING.

It is the CLIENTS decision to shoot or NOT to shoot. If you are not comfortable with the shot presented then please DON'T SHOOT. We are NOT conducting target practice. We are NOT responsible for BAD shooting skills. Please be proficient with the weapon of YOUR choice.

We will do everything possible to recover your animal but, YOUR GUIDE and EVERGLADES ADVENTURES assumes NO responsibility to recover your animal due to poor shot placement.

OUR TROPHY BUCKS

This particular property produced the number one typical whitetail harvested to date for Collier County, Florida. This buck scored 123 4/8 and was harvested in 2010.

The Florida Buck Registry was established in 1982 to provide hunters with a record of the number and quality of white-tailed deer taken in Florida. The minimum antler score necessary to qualify is 100 Boone and Crockett inches for typical antlers and 125 for non-typical antlers.

Our trophy hunters have a good to excellent chance to harvest a Florida registry buck on one of our trophy hunts.

We have RECENT game camera photos of some of the quality and quantity of deer on this property which can be viewed on the deer hunting gallery.

Persons interested in viewing a video of the quality of our ranches, the vast numbers of whitetail located there and to give you a general idea of what to expect on one of our whitetail hunts, please view the video below:

WE ARE LOCATED IN ZONE "A"

GENERAL

We offer spot and stalk hunting from ELECTRIC 4WD vehicles or walking. We don't offer tree stand hunting.

Our whitetail hunts are limited to two hunters.
For this hunt you will need full camouflage clothing in a dark green pattern such as Mossy Oak Full Foliage. You might require waterproof hiking boots; preferably knee-high as it is very possible we could get into some water. Your clothing should consist of long sleeve shirts, pants and a hat. Also, you may require some form of camouflage rain gear. The mosquito's can be pretty bad during the summer months so during this time especially plan on the long sleeve shirts and long pants.

We suggest the use of thirty caliber or larger rifles. Shots generally range from fifty yards with a maximum shooting range of one hundred yards. Hunters will need some form of soft case for your gun for transporting it on our vehicles.

For our Bow hunters we suggest the use of a bow with a fifty-pound draw minimum. You should be proficient at twenty to thirty yards.

You will need a cooler for transporting your meat home. You will need a large one if you are planning to use your taxidermist. We have several taxidermists that we recommend and can handle the complete process including handling the mount and the paperwork. We also would suggest you bring a still or video camera with extra film for the excellent scenery.

If you are flying in, the Southwest Florida International Airport located in Fort Myers or the Ft. Lauderdale Airport are the most convenient. These airports are located approximately an hour and a half from where you will be hunting. If you are flying into this area for the hunt we recommend that you acquire a rental car, which are available at the airport.

We have comfortable modern air-conditioned lodging on site for our guests if requested.
