Everglades Adventures offers alligator hunting year round and a guaranteed opportunity to harvest while hunting fair chase on over 25,000 acres of private ranches in South Florida.
PRIVATE LANDS DAYLIGHT HUNTS (Trophy and Non-Trophy)
Our private lands alligators are located in canals, water retention areas, ponds, lakes, marshes, cypress strands and swamps on our private ranches. We utilize airboats, swamp buggies and specialized four-wheel drive trucks.
We offer daytime private lands hunts year round for clients interested in harvesting the alligator with the use of a firearm on a spot and stalk safari style hunt. These hunts allow the client to use rifles or handguns for the harvest. Rifles in calibers 243, 270, 30-06 are a great choice and handguns in calibers 357, .44 and .45 are best.
We provide all licenses and permits for these hunts as well as handle all of the paperwork associated with the alligator harvest. We have hundreds of CITES tags on hand for use in these hunts.
Alligator hunting requires the use of CITES (Convention on the International Trade of Endangered Species) tags issued by the US Fish and Wildlife Service to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for use in their Alligator program. Many wildlife species in trade are not endangered, but the existence of an agreement to ensure the sustainability of the trade is important to safeguard these resources for the future. We apply for our tags in the private lands program offered by the State. It is a requirement that a CITES tag is placed in the tail of all alligators harvested.
In order to obtain a alligator hunting license for our client's we require the client's name, address, date of birth, social security number, height, weight, color of hair, sex, race, e-mail address, drivers license number and if a NON-US citizen a passport number.
We have all necessary equipment available for any of our alligator hunts. We have any required firearm available for our clients. The use of any of our equipment and firearms is included in the hunt and is offered at no additional charge.
Upon arrival you will be required to shoot the desired weapon of choice to prove accuracy of the weapon and your shooting ability. We will discuss shot placement on the alligator depending on the angle of the required shot. Our shots range from thirty to around seventy yards. We do utilize African style three legged shooting sticks for a rest.
We pre-scout our trophy hunts prior to your arrival. Our smaller alligators (less than eight feet) scouting is not necessary as we have hundreds on our different private ranches.
Camouflage clothing is required when hunting TROPHY ALLIGATORS during daytime hunts. Our alligators are WILD alligators and stalking them is similar to stalking any other trophy animal.
We provide bottled water and soft drinks on all of our hunts. We also supply any ice for the hunt as well as any additional ice for your coolers to pack your meat. We recommend a large ice cooler (60 quart or larger).
Lodging and meals are included in our trophy alligator hunts which last more than one day. We have lodging available both on and off site. Additional information concerning lodging can be found at one of the following links: ON SITE LODGING or OFF SITE LODGING.
Clients should consider bringing a Poncho or raincoat, sunscreen, sunglasses and hat, camera and bug spray along on your hunt.
We require a 100% (one hundred-percent) deposit to confirm your reservation. Payments can be made by cash, personal or business check, traveler's check, cashier's check or money order. Checks should be made payable to EVERGLADES ADVENTURES. The deposit's are non-refundable, but are transferable within the current season as scheduling permits. Thirty (30) day advance notice of cancellation is required.
PRIVATE LANDS NIGHT HUNTS (Trophy and Non-Trophy)
This option is the best for clients interested in utilizing a recurve bow, compound bow, crossbow, harpoon or fishing rod for the capture and a bang stick for the harvest. Our nighttime hunts are conducted with the use of airboats. These hunts are similar to our public waters hunts except they are offered year-round. We have over 600 acres of private lakes for use in these hunts.
If using a bow you should have a minimum of thirty-five pounds draw weight and should be rigged with a bow fishing reel attachment with a retrieval line of 200 pound test minimum.
Our night hunters should wear dark clothing on the airboats as light colored clothing reflects light.
